Unsolicited Emails Alert

Part of our philosophy of "Putting People First", is caring about the privacy and safety of our customers' information. You can help us ensure that your private information is protected by practicing good security habits. We would like to remind you of the following important safety tips to help protect the security of your accounts:

  • Astoria Federal will not contact you via unsolicited email to verify information you have previously given us, such as your account number, password, or social security number, as part of updating our systems.
  • There are fraudulent scams where people have received emails that were claiming to be from other financial institutions asking their customers for their personal information. You should never give your password or PIN to anyone, including our employees.
  • If you suspect that you have received a fraudulent email or phone call from someone claiming to be from Astoria Federal, please contact Telephone Banking immediately at 1-800-ASTORIA (1-800-278-6742)), or forward the email to phishingreports@astoriafederal.com, so we can investigate. Do not click on any attachments or links in a suspicious e-mail. Once you forward the e-mail to us you should delete it.
  • If you are unsure whether a link to our Web site is valid, you can verify the security certification to validate that it is a legitimate Astoria Federal website. To find out how to do this click  here.
